Description

WAL was commissioned to provide Quantity Surveying services for this project in Chiang Mai. The brief is to develop an international Museum designed by an American Architect.

Designed in modular concepts and using raw finish concrete on the external facade, the project is covered by a large single roof with spans ranging over 20m. Like other museum projects, it is to house expensive Artworks and utilize robust lighting system, humidity control and fire protection system.

WAL advised the Client on the cost implications of this special project and assisted the client to tailor this to their budget.

Description

The Client’s vision is to convert an old existing warehouse into a high standard American Designed Museum to house precious Artworks. The existing property is over 20 years old and had to be structurally modified to create headroom and additional loading on the floor to carry heavy Artwork. The Mechanical and Electrical Systems requires robust humidity control, lighting and fire protection systems to protect the Artworks.

WAL advised the Client on budgetary requirements for this special project during inception stage ahead of any specific design.

Qualification

Bachelor degree in Civil Engineer, Architecture,Electricity, Sanitary,Mechanical or related field.

0-5 years experiences in Construction Works, Cost Engineer, Estimator or QS.

Good background in Quantity and Cost estimation.

Excellent MS Excel capabilities.

Able to use Auto cad, Word, Excel.

Good communication skills in English is an advantage.

Good interpersonal skills, team player and communication are considered essential for job success.

Able to work under pressure and be committed to deadlines.

New graduates are also welcomed.
